Hurdle-maker, Spar-maker and Pole-lathe turner
All my products are hand-made from local hazel coppiced managed woodland in Dorset
Please contact me for more details or to discuss your requirements

A good hurdle should be split along the natural grain, have twists at the ends to hold the hurdle together and should not contain screws or nails.  At the top and bottom of the hurdle, the wood should be woven in such a way to completely hold the hurdle together.  Some cheaper hurdles are not made in this way and are machine sawn and contain nails to hold it together and this results in a shorter life.  All my hurdles are hand-made in the traditional sustainable way.
